A lot of dog food companies nowadays produce foods that are cheap to manufacture. In order to do this they use fillers, grains, and other lower quality, difficult to digest ingredients.

These ingredientes keep the pets feeling full and satisfied, but do very little to provide quality nutrtion. What is worst they tend to create weight issues and can lead to obesity. Dog and cat obesity rates are now close to epidemic levels in the US.
