How to Know if My Cat Is Bored

Just like humans, cats can also experience boredom and discouragement. When a cat gets bored, it’s often related to lack of enrichment, socialization, and play. If you want to recognize signs of boredom, keep reading this #LivelongTip:

  1. Increased grooming: When a cat licks its coat compulsively and bald patches appear, it’s a sign of extreme boredom.
  2. Eats more than usual: Anxiety and boredom can cause this behavior.
  3. Sleeps all the time.
  4. Behavioral problems: As a result of boredom, cats may become destructive.
  5. “Bullying” a companion: They may display abusive behavior toward other cats or dogs they live with.

To prevent boredom, remember to play with your cat, enrich its environment with stimuli (toys, activities, music, etc.), and spend quality time together.
